How long have you been drawing or creating art?
I have been creating art since I was 2 years old. Art helps me to express myself.
I started to love painting in particular, after my Poppy gave me my first easel and watercolour paints for my 4th birthday.
I am particularly inspired my best adult friend Rachel Bennell who is an amazing artist and graphic designer.
I have won two colouring-in competitions at my local library recently and would love to have my own exhibition one day.
My favourite styles of art are watercolour illustrations outlined with felt-tip pen. I love drawing/painting succulents, and quirky characters that I have made up in my head.
I hope to keep creating art for my whole life. My first goal is to create a series of illustrated gift cards or trading cards for kids.

What do you like about the story “A Shooting Star”?
I like that the Grandma’s name is “Flo” {like flow}.

What does it mean to you to be part of this book with the other child illustrators around the world?
It feels amazing! I am glad that I challenged myself. I have loved seeing the different illustration styles from around the world; particularly the Japanese/manga-inspired one.

How have you used the shooting star with your family or friends?
I gave my Sister a shooting star when She first learnt to do tricks with a yo-yo. My Mum gave me one when I showed perseverance in my home-school work. And She gave my Sister Piper one when She shared her food with me.

What advice would you give children or teenagers about going for your dreams?
Sometimes it feels really hard, but it’s worth it.

As a wise kid, what message to you think humanity/humans needs to hear right now?
Stop buying plastic bottles and start to grow your own food. Be kind to our Earth, and each other.

Name one person in your life who you would love to give a shooting star to. Why?
My permaculture teacher Aaron Mears. He teaches us amazing things about how to look after our planet better. He is balanced in his teaching style, and truly kind and understanding. He deserves a shooting star!
